As we anxiously wait for more hostages to return, struggle with the fact that Israel must still wage war to protect herself, try to wrap our heads around President Trump’s shocking announcement about Gaza, and all the other issues that fill us with so many strong emotions, including anger, I thought it was important to share last week’s sermon. It was focused on how Judaism gives us permission to feel anger, rage, and fury. Our tradition teaches us that these emotions – when acted upon responsibly – can bring about much needed change in this chaotic world. At the same time, we must work hard to balance our anger, rage, and fury with goodness, joyful moments, and celebrations. This is how we bring much-needed balance into our lives. May we all find the balance we need to thrive.
